Two‐Dimensional Porous Molybdenum Phosphide/Nitride Heterojunction Nanosheets for pH‐Universal Hydrogen Evolution Reaction
Abstract
Herein, we present a new strategy for the synthesis of 2D porous MoP/Mo 2 N heterojunction nanosheets based on the pyrolysis of 2D [PMo 12 O 40 ] 3- -melamine (PMo 12 -MA) nanosheet precursor from a polyethylene glycol (PEG)-mediated assembly route. The heterostructure nanosheets are ca. 20 nm thick and have plentiful pores ( 2 N heterojunction nanosheets exhibit excellent HER activity with low overpotentials of 89, 91 and 89 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm -2 in alkaline, neutral and acidic electrolytes, respectively. The HER performance is superior to the commercial Pt/C at a current density >55 mA cm -2 in neutral medium and >190 mA cm -2 in alkaline medium.

The scarcity, high cost and poor electrochemical durability of Pt catalysts seriously hamper industrial-scale production of hydrogen.
“Nevertheless, the scarcity, high cost and poor electrochemical durability of Pt catalysts seriously hamper its industrial-scale production of hydrogen [6].”
The density of localized states near the Fermi level in the Pt@Mo2C heterostructure is higher than in pure Pt (111), suggesting that the heterointerfaces improve electron mobility, enabling rapid electron transfer throughout the HER process.
“Furthermore, the density of localized states near the Fermi level in the Pt@Mo2C heterostructure is higher than that in pure Pt (111) (Fig. 6A, B), suggesting that the heterointerfaces are capable of improving electron mobility, thereby enabling rapid electron transfer throughout the HER process [46].”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
