Fe-Al alloy has a peak corrosion rate at about 650°C because higher temperatures promote formation of protective Al2O3, which hinders penetration of molten salts to the base alloy.
“However, a peak in the corrosion rate is found at an intermediate temperature, i.e., about 650 o C, for the Fe-Al alloy since higher temperatures also promote the formation of the protective oxide Al2O3 which hinders the penetration of molten salts to the base alloy [23].”

Pure iron beneath Na2SO4 in O2-(0.5-1.0%) (SO2+SO3) has a corrosion rate that grows with increasing temperature from 600°C to 700°C due to enhanced mass transfer and increased reaction rates.
“Shi et al. found the corrosion rate of pure iron beneath Na2SO4 in O2-(0.5-1.0%) (SO2 + SO3) grows with increasing temperature (600 o C - 700 o C) due to the enhanced mass transfer of all species and increased rate of all reactions.”

The corrosion rate of Fe-Al alloys (Fe-5Al and Fe-10Al) is much slower than that of pure iron beneath Na2SO4 in O2-(0.5-1.0%)(SO2+SO3) at 600-700 o C due to the formation of aluminum oxide.
“Shi et al. found the corrosion rate of Fe-Al alloys (Fe-5Al and Fe-10Al) is much slower than that of pure iron beneath Na2SO4 in O2-(0.5-1.0%) (SO2 + SO3) in temperature range from 600 o C to 700 o C due to the formation of aluminum oxide [23].”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
