Information security aspects of Industry 4.0
Open accessAbstract
Today’s most advanced Industrial systems are built on a very solid information technology basis. To serve and to operate the extremely complex supply chain, the industry needs modern, interconnected infrastructure, where sensors, industrial and office devices are connected. Therefore, real-time demands could take immediate action in every step of the supply chain elements. The more complex the information infrastructure is, the more risk emerges in the field of cybersecurity. Cybersecurity threats are hands-on risks in the industrial sector. SCADA systems were just the first step to influence the operation of a factory, and that time governments have the privilege of this action (with enough financial and IT resources). Today, the game has changed, new players and methodologies have emerged, and revealing the correlation between motivation and capability (in the aspects of the industrial sector) is the key not just the continuous development but to survive either.

The author suggested that even if new technologies introduce new threats, the preparation and creation of controlled areas among other actions could allow the maintenance of integrity, confidentiality and availability in the long term.

[22] proposed to create a physical information security in the form of Protected Areas, which are spaces where sensitive and valuable data can be safely exchanged acoustically or visually.
“For these reasons, [22] proposed to create a physical information security. This solution takes the form of ''Protected Areas'' (see Fig. 5), which are spaces where sensitive and valuable data can be safely exchanged acoustically or visually.”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
