Hierarchically Constructed Silver Nanowire@Nickel–Iron Layered Double Hydroxide Nanostructures for Electrocatalytic Water Splitting
Abstract
We report a strategy for the surface engineering of electrode materials for water splitting by constructing a nickel–iron (Ni 0.95 Fe 0.05 ) layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets on silver nanowires (Ag NWs). The bimetallic electrocatalysts show excellent activity both in cathodic and anodic processes. As a result, we achieved a current density of 10 mA/cm 2 at a cell potential as small as 1.56 V. Moreover, the electrodes feature great stability and even after 12 h of continuous operation maintain stable cell voltage. Excellent performance of the LDH-based electrocatalysts stems from the combination of unsurpassed conductivity and stability of Ag backbone and LDH lattice expansion upon introduction of Fe atoms.

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
