Organotemplate-Free and Fast Route for Synthesizing Beta Zeolite
Abstract
Beta Zeolite has been widely used in industry, and its synthesis usually takes several days in the presence of organic templates. We demonstrate here an organotemplate-free and fast route for synthesizing Beta zeolite by addition of Beta seeds in the starting gel in the absence of any organic templates.

In the OSDA-free synthesis of zeolite Beta reported by Xie et al., the use of seeds of zeolite Beta was crucial for growing the desired zeolite.
“In this report, the use of seeds (see below) of zeolite Beta was crucial for growing the desired zeolite.”

The OSDA-free synthesis of zeolites was first reported in 1985 for high-silica ZSM-5, and it remained a rare example until 2008 when Xie et al. reported crystallization of zeolite Beta in the absence of OSDA.
“The OSDA-free synthesis of zeolites was reported for the first time in 1985 for high-silica ZSM-5,104 thus being a rare example of such syntheses until the publication of Xie et al. in 2008 reporting the crystallization of zeolite Beta in the absence of OSDA.105”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
