Revisiting the Charnian Supergroup: new advances in understanding old rocks

More than two centuries of study have culminated in work that promises to re‐write large parts of the stratigraphy, mode of origin, palaeontology, age and structure of the late Precambrian to early Cambrian ‘basement’ rocks in Charnwood Forest, UK.
