Constraining slow-roll inflation with WMAP and 2dF
Open accessAbstract
We constrain slow-roll inflationary models using the recent Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe data combined with data from the VSA, CBI, ACBAR and 2dF experiments. We find the slow-roll parameters to be $0<{\ensuremath{\epsilon}}_{1}<0.032$ and ${\ensuremath{\epsilon}}_{2}+5.0{\ensuremath{\epsilon}}_{1}=0.036\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.025.$ For inflation models $V\ensuremath{\propto}{\ensuremath{\varphi}}^{\ensuremath{\alpha}}$ we find that $\ensuremath{\alpha}<3.9,4.3$ at the $2\ensuremath{\sigma}$ and $3\ensuremath{\sigma}$ levels, indicating that the $\ensuremath{\lambda}{\ensuremath{\varphi}}^{4}$ model is under very strong pressure from observations. We define a convergence criterion to judge the necessity of introducing further power spectrum parameters such as the spectral index and running of the spectral index. This criterion is typically violated by models with large negative running that fit the data, indicating that the running cannot be reliably measured with present data.

Claims other papers make about this one
Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?
In the high temperature medium of the early Universe there are non-perturbative field configurations called sphalerons that induce transitions between gauge field configurations with different values of N_CS.
“Kuzmin, Rubakov and Shaposhnikov[50] noticed that in the high temperature medium”
From Phase Transitions in the Early and Present Universe (2006) · cites this paper as [50]
The Introduction and the passages on slow-roll constraints discuss inflationary spectra and WMAP/2dF data, not sphalerons. Searches for sphaleron-induced transitions, N_CS, and high-temperature electroweak processes found no passage addressing the attributed claim. (LLM, conf=0.78)

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
