Bounds on cubic Lorentz-violating terms in the fermionic dispersion relation
Open accessAbstract
We study the recently proposed Lorentz-violating dispersion relation for fermions and show that it leads to two distinct cubic operators in the momentum. We compute the leading order terms that modify the nonrelativistic equations of motion and use experimental results for the hyperfine transition in the ground state of the $^{9}\mathrm{B}{e}^{+}$ ion to bound the values of the Lorentz-violating parameters ${\ensuremath{\eta}}_{1}$ and ${\ensuremath{\eta}}_{2}$ for neutrons. The resulting bounds depend on the value of the Lorenz-violating background four-vector in the laboratory frame.

A constraint on the dimension-five neutron operators of Equation (40) was derived using limits on the spatial variation of the Be+ hyperfine nuclear spin transition as a function of the angle between the spin axis and an external magnetic field.

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
