Evidence of Fermi surface reconstruction at the metamagnetic transition of the strongly correlated superconductor UTe2
Open accessAbstract
The authors use thermoelectric power and Hall-effect measurements to give evidence of a magnetic field-induced Fermi surface reconstruction in the heavy fermion superconductor UTe${}_{2}$ at the metamagnetic transition, which coincides with the abrupt suppression of superconductivity at 35 T for magnetic field applied along the hard magnetization axis.

The oSCFP phase in Orphan UTe2 has a narrower angular range than typical SCFP, which extends from 25° to 42° in crystals with higher RRR.
“The narrower angular range of the oSCFP is striking when compared to typical SCFP, which extends from 25o to 42o in crystals with higher RRR (Fig. 2b, see Fig. S4 in Supplementary Information for comparison with published data3,35,36,41).”

The Introduction reports reentrant superconductivity with the field tilted 30° from the b axis toward the c axis. The Experimental Details list samples’ RRR values, but the paper does not give a 25°–42° angular range, relate that range to higher RRR, or compare it with the oSCFP phase. Page numbers are unavailable in our copy. (LLM, conf=0.84)
Experimental — accuracy not yet measuredThe Hm value in Orphan UTe2 is slightly lower than previous observations of Hm from low-field-superconducting samples of UTe2 and lower than the metamagnetic transitions recorded for both Low-R and High-R UTe2.
“This value is slightly lower than previous observations of Hm reported from low-field-superconducting samples of UTe23,5,18,35–37, and lower than the metamagnetic transitions recorded for both Low-R and High-R UTe2 (Fig. 2b).”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
