Hybrid Lightweight Image Encryption for SecureV2X Communication Using DWT, Chaotic Maps, and PRESENT Cipher
Abstract
As Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication has gained attention, image transmission has become a priority in terms of security and efficiency, particularly under timeconstrained and resource-constrained environments. In this paper, the author suggests a hybrid lightweight image encryption framework based on a combination of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), chaotic logistic maps, and PRESENT cipher. The DWT can also achieve image compression by separating the low-frequency part (LL) of the image, which particularly contains the necessary visual content. To encrypt this component, a chaotic logistic map then generates a pseudo-random key stream, a highly sensitive one, and the high-frequency bands are (mathematically) scrambled to introduce visual distortion. The LL sub-band may also be encrypted optionally with the PRESENT block cipher to provide extra security. This layered strategy can create robust confusion, dispersion, and essential sensitivity whilst having minimal computational overhead, which is quite possible to use in V2X systems. The simulation findings show that the scheme is brawny, airy, and statistically and brute-force robust, which makes it the amplest similitude of a reliable image sending scheme in an intelligent transport system.

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
