Abstract

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • Redox reactions involve the transfer of electrons between substances, leading to changes in oxidation numbers.

“Redox reactions involve the transfer of electrons between substances, leading to changes in oxidation numbers.”

From Identification of the Redox Reaction Between CuSO₄ and Zn Through Visual Observation in Basic Chemistry (2026) · cites this paper as [4]

The paper’s discussion of the app’s content (section 1, page unavailable) identifies electron transfer and changes in oxidation number as two ways of explaining redox reactions. It does not explicitly say that electrons transfer between substances or that this transfer leads to the oxidation-number changes. (LLM, conf=0.80)

  • Oxidation refers to the loss of electrons by a substance, while reduction refers to electron gain by another substance.

“Oxidation refers to the loss of electrons by a substance, while reduction refers to electron gain by another substance [1], [4].”

From Identification of the Redox Reaction Between CuSO₄ and Zn Through Visual Observation in Basic Chemistry (2026) · cites this paper as [4]

The Introduction describes an app section on redox reactions based on electron transfer, but does not state which process loses electrons and which gains them. Searches for the electron-loss and electron-gain definitions found no passage in our copy that gives those definitions. (LLM, conf=0.73)

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
