Open accessAbstract
This document provides the survey items used by the AIinHE project in 2024.The project was a collaborative effort of four major Australian universities: Monash University, the University of Queensland, Deakin University, and the University of Technology Sydney. Co-funded by these institutions, the project aimed to understand higher education students' relationships with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).In addition to the survey items, the document includes details of the survey construction and further context of the project. Further details about the project, as well as results and publications can be found at the project website: AI in Higher Education: Student PerspectivesA Qualtrics file (.qsf format) of the survey items is also offered here: https://doi.org/10.26180/27922608Please cite the survey as:Chung, J., Henderson, M., Pepperell, N., Slade, C., Liang, Y. About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
