Biomass Related Salt Solutions at Hydrothermal Conditions
Open accessAbstract
Aqueous salt solutions at elevated pressures and temperatures play an important role in Earth's crust, where they contribute to heat and mass transfer and are crucial for the formation of ore deposits, and these solutions are also used in energy production such as in power-plants (nuclear and conventional), hydrothermal treatment of biomass, such as supercritical water gasification (SCWG), or in the destruction of hazardous waste, like in supercritical water oxidation process (SCWO).

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?
The potassium effect is probably the origin of the pseudo type 1d behavior of the K2SO4-Na2SO4-H2O ternary system, even though it contains two type 2 salts.
“This effect is probably at the origin of the pseudo type 1d behavior that the ternary system K2SO4-Na2SO4-H2O exhibits, even though it consists of two type 2 salts 44,46 .”
From Continuous Extraction of Black Liquor Salts under Hydrothermal Conditions (2021) · cites this paper as [46]
The measured critical temperature of pure water was 373.3 ± 0.2 °C, compared with 373.95 °C from NIST, and the difference was attributed to overcooling.
“The critical temperature of pure water in our measurement was 373.3 ± 0.2 °C, to be compared to the 373.95 °C from the NIST reference database 47 , the difference being caused by an overcooling phenomenon 46 .”
From Continuous Extraction of Black Liquor Salts under Hydrothermal Conditions (2021) · cites this paper as [46]
Citation 46 is attached to the overcooling explanation; the measured temperature is described as the citing authors’ own result, and the NIST value has a separate citation. The thesis’s Abstract discusses hydrothermal phase transitions, but no passage found attributes a discrepancy in pure water’s measured critical temperature to overcooling (searched: 373.3, 373.95, overcooling, and supercooling). (LLM, conf=0.72)
Experimental — accuracy not yet measuredThe Na2CO3/Na2SO4 ternary mixture behaves as a type 2 mixture at any salt ratio.
“This is in line with the dominating influence of Na2CO3/Na2SO4 ternary mixture that was previously showed to behave as type 2 mixture at any salt ratio 46 .”
From Continuous Extraction of Black Liquor Salts under Hydrothermal Conditions (2021) · cites this paper as [46]
The Abstract discusses type-2 behavior in ternary salt solutions, but does not identify the Na2CO3/Na2SO4/water mixture or state that it behaves as type 2 at every salt ratio. Searches for sodium carbonate with sodium sulfate and for their ternary formula found no passage addressing that specific mixture. (LLM, conf=0.69)

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
