L2/Ln sign language teacher preparation, qualifications, and development

Abstract
There is a worldwide growth in classes in sign language as second language. However, teacher preparatory programs in sign language as second language (L2) are only found in a few countries. The existing teacher preparatory programs vary in program design. The different program designs delineate different provisions and practicalities in the preparation of teachers. A framework for designing teacher preparation programs is offered, and suggestions for further research and practice are given.
