Abstract

We use photoemission spectroscopy to discover the first topological magnet in three dimensions, the material Co$_2$MnGa.

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • A TRS-breaking Weyl state has been predicted or established in many magnetic compounds.

“A TRS-breaking Weyl state has also been predicted or established in many magnetic compounds.”

From Transport of Topological Semimetals (2019) · cites this paper as [95]

The discussion on p. 3 says Co₂TiSn and several other Heusler compounds had been proposed as candidates for a magnetic topological phase; the references on p. 12 identify predictions of magnetic Weyl states. But the paper does not establish a TRS-breaking Weyl state in many magnetic compounds: it reports line nodes in Co₂MnGa (p. 4) and says few topological magnets had been demonstrated (p. 8). • A large intrinsic AHE and a giant anomalous Hall angle were recently reported in FM Co3Sn2S2, for which the existence of Weyl fermions has been demonstrated by the observation of surface Fermi arcs.

“A large intrinsic AHE and a giant anomalous Hall angle were recently reported in FM Co 3 Sn 2 S 2 (94,292), for which the existence of Weyl fermions has been demonstrated by the observation of surface Fermi arcs (93).”

From Transport of Topological Semimetals (2019) · cites this paper as [94]

Citation (93) is attached to the claim that surface Fermi arcs demonstrate Weyl fermions in Co3Sn2S2. The paper instead reports topological line nodes and drumhead surface states in Co2MnGa (Abstract, pp. 2, 4). Searches for Co3Sn2S2 and its surface Fermi arcs found no passage addressing that claim. Self-check

Percentages, sums and reported differences re-computed from the paper’s own numbers.

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
