Normal Values of Stretched Penile Length According to Gestational Age in Neonates
Open accessAbstract
Objective: To assess the mean stretched values of penile length and penile circumference according to gestational age in term neonates attending Combined Military Hospital, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Combined Military Hospital, Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Jan 2022 to Jul 2022. Methodology: Male newborns born apparently healthy with in between 37 to 42 gestational weeks were enrolled within 3 days of birth. Measurements of stretched penile length and penile circumference were performed twice, and the average value of the two measurements was recorded. Results: Among 69 neonates, the average gestational age was 39.92±1.44 weeks. The mean stretched penile length was 3.15±0.47 cm, while the mean penile circumference was 1.01±1.30 cm. Significant differences were observed in birth length (p<0.001), head circumference (p<0.001), stretched penile length (p=0.006), and penile circumference (p=0.002) in relation to gestational age. A significant correlation was observed between stretched penile length and various factors, including gestational age (r 0.414, p<0.001), postnatal age (r 0.429, p<0.001), birth weight (r 0.582, p<0.001), birth length (r 0.398, p=0.001), and total serum testosterone (r 0.475, p<0.001). Similarly, penile circumference exhibited significant correlations with gestational age (r 0.470, p<0.001), birth weight (r 0.419, p<0.001), and birth length (r 0.563, p<0.001). Conclusion: In this study, a moderate positive significant relationship of gestational age was observed with both stretched penile length and penile circumference.

Tahir R, et al. published a nomogram for stretched penile length in neonates according to gestational age in Pakistan in 2025.
“Recently, Tahir R, et al. published a nomogram for stretched penile length in neonates according to their gestational age in Pakistan in 2025 [14].”
From Stretched Penile Length and Penile Circumference in Pediatric Population of Pakistan: A Cross-Sectional Single-Center Study (2026) · cites this paper as [14]
The title and Abstract identify a 2025 study in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, measuring stretched penile length by gestational age in term neonates. The available text reports means and correlations, but does not show or describe a nomogram; that specific characterization is not supported by our copy. (LLM, conf=0.82)
Experimental — accuracy not yet measuredLocal reference data for male external genital anthropometry in Pakistan have been very limited.
“local reference data for male external genital anthropometry in Pakistan have been very limited [14].”
From Stretched Penile Length and Penile Circumference in Pediatric Population of Pakistan: A Cross-Sectional Single-Center Study (2026) · cites this paper as [14]
The Abstract describes measurements of penile length and circumference in 69 term neonates in Rawalpindi, but it does not say that Pakistani reference data were limited. Searches for limited or scarce local normative data found no passage addressing how much such data existed. (LLM, conf=0.70)
Experimental — accuracy not yet measuredPediatricians in Pakistan must rely on foreign standards that may not accurately represent the Pakistani population and may lead to misdiagnosis.
“Meanwhile, because of the sparsity of the standard reference data, Pediatricians in Pakistan, must rely on the foreign standards that may not accurately represent the Pakistani population and eventually lead to misdiagnosis [7, 14].”
From Stretched Penile Length and Penile Circumference in Pediatric Population of Pakistan: A Cross-Sectional Single-Center Study (2026) · cites this paper as [14]
The Abstract describes measurements of stretched penile length in 69 neonates in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, but does not address whether Pakistani pediatricians must rely on foreign standards or whether doing so risks misdiagnosis. Searches for foreign standards, local reference data, and misdiagnosis found no passage in our copy making those points. (LLM, conf=0.72)

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
