The Schwarzian theory — a Wilson line perspective
Open accessAbstract
A bstract: We provide a holographic perspective on correlation functions in Schwarzian quantum mechanics, as boundary-anchored Wilson line correlators in Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity. We first study compact groups and identify the diagrammatic representation of bilocal correlators of the particle-on-a-group model as Wilson line correlators in its 2d holographic BF description. We generalize to the Hamiltonian reduction of SL + (2, ℝ) and derive the Schwarzian correlation functions. Out-of-time ordered correlators are determined by crossing Wilson lines, giving a 6 j -symbol, in agreement with 2d CFT results.

These correlators were later reproduced using a variety of approaches by Blommaert et al. (2018); Iliesiu et al. (2019) using the BF approach and by Kitaev and Suh (2019), Yang (2019), Suh (2020) using the particle in a magnetic field perspective on JT gravity.

In the BF model, 3j-symbols and 6j-symbols can appear for Wilson line endpoints and bulk crossings respectively.
“Finally, the 3j-symbols ( in the above example), and 6j-symbols can appear for Wilson line endpoints and bulk crossings respectively (Mertens 2018; Blommaert et al. 2018; Iliesiu et al. 2019).”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
