  • L. reuteri modulates host gut immune function and intestinal inflammation via the histamine H2 receptor.

“Perhaps most interestingly, L. reuteri was shown to modulate host gut immune function (Ferstl et al., 2014), as well as intestinal inflammation via the histamine H2 receptor (Gao et al., 2015).”

From The Microbiota-Gut-Brain Axis (2019) · cites this paper as Ferstl et al., 2014

Ferstl et al. is cited for the claim that L. reuteri modulates host gut immune function; the separate H2-receptor claim is attributed to Gao et al. Figure 1 reports that L. reuteri supernatant increased LPS-induced NF-κB activation in vitro, supporting an effect on an immune-response measure, but not demonstrating modulation of gut immune function in a host. The paper’s gut immune experiments used L. saerimneri 30a instead. (LLM, conf=0.84)

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
