Asymmetric adsorption of DL-alanine hydrochloride by quartz
Open accessAbstract
medium-pressure mercury lamp at ice bath temperature. The solution was agitated with a magnetic stirrer and was purged with a slow stream of nitrogen. At intervals, an aliquot of the photolysate was pipetted out and was properly diluted for spectroscopic measurements in the 400-500-nm region. The photolysis was continued until the quinone absorption at 450 nm disappeared completely. For workup, of the reaction mixture, the solvent was removed under vacuum at ~45 °C.In some experiments, crystalline compound sep- arated on dilution with petroleum ether; the mother liquor was separated by column chromatography.

Radiolabelled alanine hydrochloride showed up to 20% differential adsorption between L-quartz and D-quartz.
“A more precise evaluation of the selectivity with radiolabelled (RS)-alanine hydrochloride led to higher levels of differential adsorption between L-quartz and D-quartz (up to 20%). 247”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
