Abstract

= .88) measures, with no cases of reliable deterioration, although most patients did not show clinically significant change by the end of therapy. The most frequent helpful in-session processes were client verbal expression of experience and work on parts of self; the most common immediate session impacts were positive feelings and self-realizations. EFT may be a useful alternative treatment for FCR. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved).

  • Individual EFT has been used effectively with cancer populations, albeit in only a few studies.

“Individual EFT has also been used effectively with cancer populations, albeit in only a few studies.”
  • A hospital-based exploratory outcome study with 17 patients with different cancer diagnoses and presenting with FCR, among other cancer-related concerns, found significant pre- and postoutcome differences, both for client-generated and standardised measures.

“A hospital- based exploratory outcome study with 17 patients with different cancer diagnoses and presenting with FCR, among other cancer- related concerns, also found significant pre- and postoutcome differences, both for client- generated and standardised measures (Almeida et al.,2022).”
  • In the original larger study, the authors did not define the cancer-related issues to be treated in therapy; instead, FCR emerged as a salient issue for around 60% of the patients.

“This also relates to the fact that, in the original larger study, the authors did not define the cancer- related issues to be treated in therapy; instead, FCR emerged as a salient issue for around 60% of the patients (Almeida et al.,2022).”

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
