Experimental measurement of collective nonlinear entanglement witness for two qubits
Open accessAbstract
We present a proof-of-principle experiment demonstrating measurement of the collectibility, a nonlinear entanglement witness proposed by \L{}. Rudnicki et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 107, 150502 (2011)]. This entanglement witness works for both mixed and pure two-qubit states. In the latter case it can be used to measure entanglement in terms of the negativity. We measured the collectibility for three distinct classes of photonic polarization-encoded two-qubit states, i.e., maximally entangled, separable, and maximally mixed states. We demonstrate that the measurement procedure is feasible and robust against typical experimental shortcomings such as imperfect two-photon indistinguishability.

The setup applied in this work was also used earlier in Refs.48-51 for conceptually different tasks.
“We note that the setup applied in this work was also used earlier in Refs.48–51, but for conceptually different tasks, e.g., measuring collective nonlinear witnesses of entanglement52,53, Bell nonlocality measure54, or diagnosing an entanglement-swapping protocol.”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
