Smart LED Driver with Improved Power Quality and High Efficiency for Household Application
Abstract
This paper presents a single stage, single switch based light emitting diode (LED) driver with remote control. The application is proposed for home building LED lighting application with brightness control. It is suitable for of 27-33V, 320mA; 10W LED lighting module. Primary side pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is used to vary LED current using compensating pin of HVLED815PF IC with high efficiency (overall 85%). There is provision for wireless control using sub-gigahertz based wireless transceiver and microcontroller unit. It is an integrated LED driver with all unit present in single printed circuit board (PCB). The converter operates on quasi resonant (QR) primary sensing flyback is used to supply power to the LED driver and auxiliary power required to microcontroller and wireless unit. The commercial LED driver, HVLED815PF is used for driving LED. The developed prototype of the proposed smart LED is experimentally verified. The power quality parameters of the LED driver are evaluated at full as well as no load conditions for European AC mains (160-265V). The harmonic as well as other parameters are found within acceptable ranges of international harmonic standard IEC 61000-3-2 and ENERGYSTAR® norms.

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
