Abstract

Basal serum tryptase in 681 healthy adults. Mathematical analysis reveals a double population of low (2–8 μg/L) or high producers (8–11.4 μg/L) with a threshold at 8 μg/L.

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • BST normal values have been established in the range of 1 to 11.5 ng/ml.

“BST normal values have been established in the range of 1 to 11.5 ng/ml (20, 24)”

From Defining “Normal” basal serum tryptase levels: a context-dependent approach to improve diagnostics in systemic mastocytosis (2025) · cites this paper as [24]

The opening section reports a manufacturer-defined 95th-percentile reference level of 11.4 µg/L, close to the claimed upper bound. The Table 1 note identifies 1 µg/L as the assay’s detection limit, not an established lower bound of normal; the paper also says the reference level remains controversial and proposes a lower threshold. (LLM, conf=0.88)

  • The majority of individuals with HαT are healthy and will not develop any MC-related conditions.

“The majority are healthy individuals and will not develop any MC-related conditions [41].”

From Diagnostic Significance of Tryptase for Suspected Mast Cell Disorders (2023) · cites this paper as [41]

The Additional information section reports that some healthy donors had elevated tryptase and might have HαT, but says genetic confirmation is needed. Our copy does not establish what proportion of people with HαT are healthy or whether they will develop mast-cell-related conditions; searches for those clinical outcomes found no such passage. About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
