  • Neutrophils have a short life span and undergo apoptosis within a few hours.

“Since neutrophils have a short life span and undergo apoptosis within a few hours”

From Oligomeric cystatin C supports the immunosuppressive activity of myeloid cells through interaction with inhibitory receptors (2025) · cites this paper as [82]

The Discussion describes neutrophils as short-lived, and the Introduction identifies apoptosis as one of their death pathways. But the Results report an untreated half-life of less than 24 hours in culture, not that neutrophils undergo apoptosis within a few hours; they also distinguish apoptotic from lytic death. • The pan-caspase inhibitor Q-VD-Oph inhibits spontaneous neutrophil apoptosis and consequently increases neutrophil lifespan.

“the cultivation of neutrophils in the polarization experiments was carried out in the presence of 3 mM pan-caspase inhibitor Q-VD-Oph (Selleckchem, cat. no. S7311) to inhibit spontaneous neutrophil apoptosis and, consequently, increase their lifespan82.”

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
