The effect of thalidomide on a prosimian: the greater galago (Galago crassicaudatus)
Abstract
A Prosimian, the greater galago, showed no teratogenic response when thalidomide was administered between days 16 through 42 of pregnancy, a period which completely covers the period of limb bud formation.

Species such as mice, rats, and bush babies are resistant to thalidomide-induced teratogenicity.
“Moreover, it has been shown that species such as mice, rats, and bush babies are resistant to thalidomide-induced teratogenicity (Butler, 1977; Heger et al., 1988; Ingalls et al., 1964; Vickers, 1967)”

The only non-human primate known to be insensitive to thalidomide-induced embryopathies, the greater bush baby, harbors an isoleucine in the critical CRBN V388 position, while all sensitive non-human primates and rabbits harbor the conserved valine.
“Of note, the only non-human primate known to be insensitive to thalidomide-induced embryopathies, the greater bush baby, also harbors an isoleucine in the critical CRBN V388 position (Butler, 1977), while all sensitive non-human primates and rabbits harbor the conserved valine (Figure 5A).”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
