CAP-T cell expression system: a novel rapid and versatile human cell expression system for fast and high yield transient protein expression
Open accessAbstract
BackroundCAP (CEVEC's Amniocyte Production) cells are an immortalized cell line based on primary human amniocytes. They were generated by transfection of these primary cells with a vector containing the functions E1 and pIX of adenovirus 5. CAP cells allow for competitive stable production of recombinant proteins with excellent biologic activity and therapeutic efficacy as a result of authentic human posttranslational modification. In order to gain access to the benefits of the CAP technology also for early research, target evaluation or assay development, the transient expression system CAP-T was developed.CAP-T cells are based on the original CAP cells and additionally express the large T antigen of simian virus 40 (SV40).

CAP and HuH-7 cells display human-like glycosylation profiles.
“Two other cell lines, the CAP (CEVEC's Amniocyte Production) cells of human amniocytes origin and the HuH-7 cells of human hepatocellular carcinoma origin, are presently tested for recombinant glycoprotein production in preclinical phases and both display human-like glycosylation profiles (Schiedner et al., 2008;Wolfel et al., 2011;Enjolras et al., 2012;Swiech et al., 2012;Wissing et al., 2015).”

The Summary (page not provided) says proteins produced by CAP-T cells showed a fully human posttranslational modification pattern, also observed in the original CAP cells. The Background describes CAP cells as producing proteins with authentic human posttranslational modifications. These passages support the claim for CAP cells, but the paper does not address HuH-7 cells or their glycosylation profiles. (LLM, conf=0.88)

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
