Clinical significance of interleukin-6 and -8 in patients with chronic periodontal disease and acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Abstract
The IL-6 and IL-8 levels of experimental group were significantly increased. IL-6 and IL-8 may be associated with the development of periodontal disease and AECOPD closely.

The levels of serum IL-6 and IL-8 were significantly increased in patients with lung dysfunction, and local inflammatory factors spread into systemic circulation.

“In the patients of periodontitis with acute exacerbation of COPD, the levels of IL-8 and IL-6 in the serum were evidently increased compared to those in periodontitis, acute exacerbation of COPD and healthy control groups.(86) According to these results, it can be concluded that periodontitis could promote COPD progre…”

“In contrast to those in the periodontitis, acute exacerbation of COPD, and healthy control groups, the levels of IL-8 and IL-6 in the serum were clearly higher in the patients with periodontitis and acute exacerbation of COPD [71] suggesting periodontitis increases the severity of COPD.”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
