Retinal examination for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease
Abstract
We examined 20 patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). In the patients in whom we found hyper or hypo fluorescent lesions on fundus auto fluorescence (FAF), optical scanning tomography (OCT) was performed through these regions to reveal depositions in the retina. Drusen like spots- dots were noticed in different parts of the retina. 10 randomly chosen patients and 10 age-matched healthy controls were given curcumin to check for the changes in FAF and OCT.

Systemic administration of curcumin to AD mice resulted in specific in vivo labeling of retinal Aβ plaques.
“In relation to this last point, it has been demonstrated that the systemic administration of curcumin to AD mice resulted in specific in vivo labeling of retinal Aβ plaques.”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
