Discipleship as Leadership: Kajian terhadap Dinamika Relasi Yesus dan Murid-Murid dalam Matius sebagai Paradigma Baru Kepemimpinan Pastoral Kontekstual
Open accessAbstract
Contemporary pastoral leadership faces a relational crisis arising from communal fragmentation amid digital hyper-individualism and the absence of sustainable discipleship models in local churches. This study examines the relational dynamics between Jesus and His disciples in the Gospel of Matthew as a pastoral leadership paradigm termed “discipleship as leadership.” Employing a qualitative-descriptive-analytical method through narrative criticism, the research identifies four formative patterns: personal calling, intensive accompaniment, transformative correction, and empowering commissioning. From these patterns, we derive four leadership elements: relational authority, character formation, corrective courage, and progressive empowerment. These findings translate into four contextual applications: micro-discipleship community formation, a healthy accountability culture, staged leadership development, and digital technology as an extension rather than a replacement for pastoral relationships. The study concludes that Jesus did not lead the disciples but led by discipling, a paradigm of significant relevance for contextual pastoral leadership development in Indonesia. AbstrakContemporary pastoral leadership is facing a relational crisis due to communal fragmentation in a culture of hyper-individualism and the weakness of sustainable discipleship models in local churches.

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
