Atom—Photon Interactions: Basic Process and Appilcations
Abstract
This book of the physical phenomena resulting from the interactions between atoms and photons brings together and discusses different theoretical approaches which have up to now been dispersed in more specialized works. Each of these approaches is presented in a self-contained way and can be studied independently. Covers perturbative methods, resolvent method, master equations, Langevin equation, optical Block equations, and dressed atom method.

As is well known from atomic physics, coherent illumination leads to reversible oscillatory dynamics between different states, with absorption followed by stimulated emission until a steady-state is enforced via spontaneous emission.
“As it is well known from atomic physics [148], a coherent illumination leads to a reversible oscillatory dynamics between the different states, with absorption processes followed by stimulated emission ones until a steady-state is enforced via spontaneous emission processes.”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
