That enzyme induces milk coagulation through cleavage of the Phe105-Met106 bond in bovine κ-casein.
“Flowers of C. cardunculus were claimed to contain one acid proteinase with two glycosylated sub-units, with molecular masses of 31 and 16 kg .mol -1 ; that enzyme was found to induce milk coagulation through cleavage of the Phe 105 -Met 106 bond in bovine κ-casein [20].”

Extracts of C. cardunculus hydrolyse the insulin B-chain at the carboxylic side of the peptide bond of Phe-X, Leu-X and Ile-X, where X is preferentially Val or Tyr; however, the specificity is not entirely determined by the nature of the residues since Leu11-Val12 of the insulin B-chain was not cleaved.

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
