Ultra-small Mo 2 C nanodots encapsulated in nitrogen-doped porous carbon for pH-universal hydrogen evolution: insights into the synergistic enhancement of HER activity by nitrogen doping and structural defects

A facile one-pot synthesis method was used. The synergistic effect of nitrogen doping and structure defects on the carbon layer leaded to the high HER activity.
