10 mJ class femtosecond optical parametric amplifier for generating soft x-ray harmonics

Abstract

Power scaling of an infrared (IR) parametric amplifier chain, pumped at 800nm by a terawatt Ti:sapphire laser system has been reported. A total output energy exceeding 10mJ with 40fs pulse duration has been achieved in the IR region, which is the highest energy and peak power ever reported for an ultrafast optical parametric amplifier scheme. By applying the developed IR pulses to high-order harmonic generation, we have observed a significant cutoff extension compared to the case of 800nm driving wavelength. This source suits as a driver laser for extending high-order harmonic photon energy into the kiloelectronvolts region.

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • High-harmonic sources extended to soft x-ray domain are in principle capable of achieving attosecond durations and provide pulses perfectly synchronized with driving laser pulse.

“High-harmonic sources, which are being extended to the soft x-ray domain [129, 202, 203], are in principle clearly capable of achieving attosecond durations and provide pulses that are perfectly synchronized with the driving laser pulse.”

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
