Raman spectra of carbonates of calcite structure
Open accessAbstract
Six new Raman spectra of carbonates of calcite structure (D 6 3d ) are presented and compared with the previously reported siderite and calcite spectra. Correction on the assignment of the electronic Raman in siderite was done by this comparative study. In calcite a new line was observed and assigned as an E g +A 1g mode. Some samples were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and the technique is described.

In single-cation carbonates, substitution of the cation from Ca2+ to Fe2+, Mg2+, or Mn2+ leads to about 30-60 cm−1 of blue shift for the T and L modes.

Spectral databases of Raman spectra for carbonates are still limited, especially for their solid-solution systems.

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
