The Effects of Isolated Telephone Interventions on Glycemic Control in Type 2 Diabetes: A Literature Review

Graziano, Judith A., Gross, Cynthia R.·2009·Advances in Nursing Science

Abstract

In Brief A systematic literature review of studies published between 1990 and 2008 was conducted to evaluate the impact of isolated telephone interventions on glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes. Eight randomized controlled trials met the inclusion criteria. Overall, the interventions had mixed effects on glycemic control, suggesting further research is needed in this area. Current evidence does not support isolated telephone interventions to improve glycemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus; well-designed studies to establish the effectiveness of this potentially cost-effective modality can be an important step in addressing the diabetes epidemic. About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
