Abstract

We study the finite-temperature phase structure and the transition temperature of QCD with two flavors of dynamical quarks on a lattice with the temporal size ${N}_{t}=4,$ using a renormalization group improved gauge action and the Wilson quark action improved by the clover term. The region of a parity-broken phase is identified, and the finite-temperature transition line is located on a two-dimensional parameter space of the coupling $(\ensuremath{\beta}{=6/g}^{2})$ and hopping parameter K. Near the chiral transition point, defined as the crossing point of the critical line of the vanishing pion mass and the line of finite-temperature transition, the system exhibits behavior well described by the scaling exponents of the three-dimensional $O(4)$ spin model. This indicates a second-order chiral transition in the continuum limit. The transition temperature in the chiral limit is estimated to be ${T}_{c}=171(4)$ MeV.

  • A strong decrease in the speed of sound, already above Tc, has been observed in lattice QCD.

The Introduction mentions the equation of state, and Section B, “Finite-temperature transition,” reports crossover behavior and a pseudocritical temperature. Neither passage reports a speed-of-sound measurement or a decrease above Tc. Searches for speed of sound and its relation to pressure and energy density found no supporting passage in our copy; page numbers were unavailable. (LLM, conf=0.76)

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
