Calculations of Multiple-Harmonic Conversion of 1064-nm Radiation in Xe

Kulander, K. C., Shore, B. W.·1989·Physical Review Letters

Abstract

The relative strengths of harmonic intensities, generated in xenon by a strong infrared laser, are calculated from the time-dependent dynamics of the electronic charge density. The (nonperturbative) solution of the time-dependent Schr\"odinger equation for a single-electron model of the atomic system is found to predict line strengths in reasonable agreement with the observed intensities. A single time-dependent calculation provides the intensity predictions for all orders for a given laser wavelength and intensity.

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • The basic mechanism for HHG from single atoms is a coherent version of the Roentgen x-ray tube, through a 're-collision' process where the strong electric field of a laser pulls an electron away from an atom, then slams it back into that ionized atom.

“The basic mechanism for HHG from single atoms was outlined in numerical [119] and then analytic [120] forms as essentially a coherent version of the Roentgen x-ray tube, through a 're-collision' process where the strong electric field of a laser pulls an electron away from an atom, then slams it back into that ionized atom.”

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
