True random number generator using current difference based on a fractional stochastic model in 40-nm embedded ReRAM
Abstract
We have successfully developed a robust ReRAM true random number generator, using current difference, that does not require extra chip area. True random numbers are guaranteed by the current difference in the 1/fβnoise generated by Brownian motion, as tested using a fractional SDE model and verified using 1/fβnoise distribution. A highly reliable 40-nm ReRAM true random number generator circuit was designed and passed NIST SP800-22 randomness tests across all combinations of voltage (VDD ± 0.1 V) and temperature (-40 to 125 °C). The random number throughput achieves 32 Mbps with a low power consumption of 0.04 nJ/bit.

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
