Abstract

Many recent software engineering graduates often face difficulties when beginning their professional careers, due to misalignment of the skills learned in their university education with what is needed in industry. In this article, we report a literature review of the studies that have been done to make improvements on this issue.

“In software engineering education, the quality of educational content depends on several interrelated factors, such as content accuracy, depth of explanation, clarity of presentation, content organization, and practical applicability [9,17].”

From An Integrated AHP–Fuzzy AHP Evaluation Framework for Large Language Models in Software Engineering Education (2026) · cites this paper as [17]

Section 7 (p. 7) says software engineering teaching should use real-world examples and include practical experience, supporting the practical-applicability aspect. Section 8 (p. 7) discusses aligning teaching materials with important topics, but neither passage presents content accuracy, depth of explanation, clarity, and organization as interrelated determinants of educational-content quality. About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
