TIGIT immune checkpoint blockade restores CD8+ T-cell immunity against multiple myeloma

Abstract

Key Points: TIGIT expression is upregulated on CD8+ T cells during MM progression and is associated with impaired effector functions. TIGIT deficiency or blockade protects mice against MM and improves effector functions of myeloma patient CD8+ T cells.

We couldn’t retrieve this paper’s full text, so its claims and self-check weren’t run. The registry and citation checks still apply.

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • Guillerey et al. observed that in both mice and humans, MM progression was associated with high levels of TIGIT expression on CD8+ T cells.

“Guillerey et al., conducted a study in this field (investigating the therapeutic potential of TIGIT blockade to suppress immune responses against MM) and observed that in both mice and humans, MM progression was associated with high levels of TIGIT expression on CD8+ T cells.”
  • Results from Guillerey et al. support the development of TIGIT blocking strategies for the treatment of MM patients.

“They also stated that the results obtained from this study support the development of TIGIT blocking strategies for the treatment of MM patients [212].”
  • Blocking TIGIT with monoclonal antibodies leads to better function of CD8 T cells of MM patients and suppresses MM growth.

“They finally concluded that blocking TIGIT with the help of monoclonal antibodies leads to better function of CD8 T cells of MM patients and suppresses MM growth.”

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
