They are fundamental to the normal development of cells, and evidence suggests that the deregulation of specific miRNAs is involved in malignant transformation due to their function as oncogenes or tumor suppressors. We know that miRNAs are involved in the development of normal B-cells and that different B-cell subsets express specific miRNA profiles according to their degree of differentiation. B-cell-derived malignancies contain transcription signatures reminiscent of their cell of origin. Therefore, we believe that normal and malignant B-cells share features of regulatory networks controlling differentiation and the ability to respond to treatment. The involvement of miRNAs in these processes makes them good biomarker candidates. B-cell malignancies are highly prevalent, and the poor overall survival of patients with these malignancies demands an improvement in stratification according to prognosis and therapy response, wherein we believe miRNAs may be of great importance. We have critically reviewed the literature, and here we sum up the findings of miRNA studies in hematological cancers, from the development and progression of the disease to the response to treatment, with a particular emphasis on B-cell malignancies.

Expression of microRNAs in macrophages can be dynamically regulated in response to different stimuli, such as antigen recognition by cell receptors, NF-κB activation and cytokine release.
“Expression of microRNAs in macrophages can be dynamically regulated in response to different stimuli, such as antigen recognition by cell receptors, NF-κB activation and cytokine release [55,58,60].”
From MicroRNAs as Regulators of Phagocytosis (2022) · cites this paper as [60]
The Introduction’s B-cell differentiation section (page unavailable) reports that miRNA expression profiles differ across stages of B-cell differentiation, supporting the general idea that expression varies. It does not establish stimulus-driven regulation in macrophages or identify antigen recognition, NF-κB activation, or cytokine release as triggers. (LLM, conf=0.79)

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
