Abstract

The thermal conductivity κ(T) of single crystals of silicon with two different isotopic compositions: natural and 99.983% enriched 28Si, was investigated in the temperature range from 0.5 K to 300 K. The enriched 28Si sample has very high thermal conductivity maximum of 290 W cm–1K–1 at Tmax = 26.5 K, about 7.5 times higher relative to the conductivity of natSi with natural isotope abundance. The isotope effect decreases with temperature increase, being 10 ± 2% at room temperature. The data are discussed briefly within the Ambegaocar's theory of isotope effect. Claims the paper makes

This paper’s full text isn’t openly available, so its claims and self-check weren’t run. The registry and citation checks still apply.

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • In intrinsic c-Si, fitting phase-lag data over the entire frequency range to a constant thermal conductivity yields 99 ± 6 W m−1 K−1, which underpredicts the bulk value of 143 W m−1 K−1 and has a large mean square error of 2.4.

    “In intrinsic c-Si, however, the constant thermal conductivity fit underpredicts the bulk value (143 W m À 1 K À 1 (ref.25)) as 99±6 W m À 1 K À 1 with a large MSE of 2.4.”

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
