Investigation of Ethylene/Butadiene Copolymers Microstructure by 1H and 13C NMR

Llauro, Marie France, Monnet, Christiane, Barbotin, Fanny, Monteil, Vincent, Spitz, Roger, Boisson, Christophe·2001·Macromolecules

Abstract

Ethylene and butadiene are copolymerized with neodymocene catalysts. In this paper, a complete 1 H and 13 C NMR analysis of ethylene/butadiene copolymers is reported for the first time. The results of this study show that the microstructure of copolymers depends on the cyclopentadienyl ligands of the catalyst. The presence of the trans -1,2-cyclohexane structure, formed by intramolecular cyclization, is detected and fully investigated by 2D NMR 1 H/ 13 C direct and long-range correlation.

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • In P1, the 13C NMR resonances at 32.66 and 29.35 ppm are assigned to Tαδ and Tβγ carbons of alternating trans-1,4 BD/E (TET) units, and multiplets around 41.32 and 39.02 ppm are attributed to continuous 1,2-BD units (V).

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
