Abstract

We report the detailed study on transport properties of ${\mathrm{ZrB}}_{2}$ single crystal, a predicted topological nodal-line semimetal. ${\mathrm{ZrB}}_{2}$ exhibits extremely large magnetoresistance as well as field-induced resistivity upturn and plateau. These behaviors can be well understood by the two-band model with the perfect electron-hole compensation and high carrier mobilities. More importantly, the electrons with small effective masses and nontrivial Berry phase have significantly high density when compared to those in known topological semimetals. It strongly suggests that ${\mathrm{ZrB}}_{2}$ hosts Dirac-like nodal-line fermions.

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • Because the zeroth LL is pinned at EF, the quantum limit can be reached in relatively low fields in YbMnBi2.

“Because the zeroth LL is pinned at E F (269), the quantum limit can be reached in relatively low fields in this material (247).”

The paper discusses magnetotransport and quantum oscillations in ZrB₂ (pp. 1, 2, 4), but the passages do not address a low-field quantum limit in YbMnBi₂. Searches for YbMnBi₂, the quantum limit, and a zeroth Landau level pinned at the Fermi energy found no supporting passage in our copy. (LLM, conf=0.77)

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
