Multiple Sclerosis: Association with HL—A3
Abstract
The incidence of HL—A3 among 94 patients with a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) was significantly higher than for 871 normal persons. In addition, some increase in Te58 and decrease in HL—A2 and Te60 frequencies was noted. The well‐known higher incidence of MS among Caucasians than among Orientals is paralleled by the higher incidence of HL—A3 and Te58 among Caucasians and a lower incidence of Te60.

The first genetic risk factors discovered for multiple sclerosis were three serological alleles of the human leucocyte antigens encoded in the major histocompatibility complex.
“three serological alleles of the human leucocyte antigens (HLA), encoded in the major histocompatibility complex8, 9, 10, 11 (MHC, chromosome 6p21).”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
