Abstract

Key Points: Life span estimates can be sensitive to the duration of stable isotope label administration, explaining discrepancies in the literature. Multiexponential models are needed to obtain reliable leukocyte life span estimates.

Claims other papers make about this one

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • Murine naive T cells survive about 30 days and divide from homeostatic proliferation only every 1-2 years.

“Naive murine T cells survive for only 30 days, while cell divisions from homeostatic proliferation occur only every 1 to 2 years”

From Successful and Maladaptive T Cell Aging (2017) · cites this paper as Westera et al., 2013

  • Memory T cell homeostasis is more dynamic than naive T cell homeostasis, with daily turnover around 0.6% and greater population heterogeneity in stable isotope-labeling studies.

“memory T cell homeostasis is more dynamic than that of naive T cells with daily turnover rates of around 0.6%, shows evidence of a higher degree of population heterogeneity in stable isotope-labeling studies”

From Successful and Maladaptive T Cell Aging (2017) · cites this paper as Westera et al., 2013

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
