Abstract

We have carried out dual-comb spectroscopy and observed in a simultaneous acquisition a 140-THz-wide spectrum from 1.0 to 1.9 µm using two fiber-based frequency combs phase-locked to each other. This ultrabroad-wavelength bandwidth is realized by setting the difference between the repetition rates of the two combs to 7.6 Hz using the sub-Hz-linewidth fiber combs. The recorded spectrum contains five vibration-rotation bands of C 2 H 2 , CH 4 , and H 2 O at different wavelengths across the whole spectrum. The determined transition frequencies of C 2 H 2 agree with those from the previous sub-Doppler resolution measurement of individual lines using CW lasers within 2 MHz.

The paper’s absorption-spectrum discussion (section labeled Abstract; page unavailable) mentions fitting an absorption length, but does not give a relationship between transmission and absorption phase, the complex refractive index, and thickness. Searches for the stated symbols and for a complex-refractive-index transmission equation found no passage addressing that relationship. (LLM, conf=0.72)

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
