The LIAA is characterized by generally high averaged field values (130-160 ZAm2), with short episodes of higher field values and geomagnetic spikes, fast secular variation rates and large angular deviations from the GAD field.
“This anomaly is characterized by generally high averaged field values (130–160 ZAm2), with short episodes of higher field values and geomagnetic spikes, fast secular variation rates and large angular deviations from the GAD field.”
From The Earth’s magnetic field in Jerusalem during the Babylonian destruction: A unique reference for field behavior and an anchor for archaeomagnetic dating (2020) · cites this paper as [37]
The Introduction describes the LIAA as having non-GAD directions, field strengths above 140 ZAm², and two short-lived spikes above 160 ZAm². Section 6.5 reports a large directional deviation in the Taranto Gulf core, but says the Levant core’s directions were within normal paleosecular variation. The paper does not establish a general averaged range of 130–160 ZAm² or quantify fast secular-variation rates for the LIAA. (LLM, conf=0.84)
Experimental — accuracy not yet measured586 BCE was believed to follow a period of an intense high-field anomaly identified in the Near East and Western Europe.
“From a geomagnetic perspective, 586 BCE was believed to follow a period of an intense high-field anomaly identified in the Near East [32, 35] and in Western Europe [5, 36, 37].”

The Levantine Iron Age Anomaly (LIAA) spanned from the 10th century BCE until at least the 5th century BCE in the Near East and Europe.
“a high field anomaly, which spanned from the 10th century BCE until at least the 5th century BCE in the Near East and Europe [5, 21, 35–37].”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
