Lorentz and CPT violation in the Higgs sector

Abstract

Colladay and Kosteleck\'y have proposed a framework for studying Lorentz and CPT violation in a natural extension of the standard model. Although numerous bounds exist on the Lorentz and CPT violating parameters in the gauge boson and fermion sectors, there are no published bounds on the parameters in the Higgs sector. We determine these bounds. The bounds on the CPT-even asymmetric coefficients arise from the one-loop contributions to the photon propagator, those from the CPT-even symmetric coefficients arise from the equivalent ${c}_{\ensuremath{\mu}\ensuremath{\nu}}$ coefficients in the fermion sector, and those from the CPT-odd coefficient arise from bounds on the vacuum expectation value of the Z boson.

Each is checked against this paper’s own text: does it say what the citing paper says it does?

  • Loop corrections from Lorentz violation in the Higgs sector can be used to derive indirect constraints on unmeasured sectors.

“Such an approach has been recently taken in [28], where loop corrections to mSME coefficients from Lorentz violation in the Higgs sector are considered.”

About these checks

Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.

Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.

Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
