Non-coding RNAs in Glioma
Open accessAbstract
Glioma is the most aggressive brain tumor of the central nervous system. The ability of glioma cells to migrate, rapidly diffuse and invade normal adjacent tissue, their sustained proliferation, and heterogeneity contribute to an overall survival of approximately 15 months for most patients with high grade glioma. Numerous studies indicate that non-coding RNA species have critical functions across biological processes that regulate glioma initiation and progression. Recently, new data emerged, which shows that the cross-regulation between long non-coding RNAs and small non-coding RNAs contribute to phenotypic diversity of glioblastoma subclasses. In this paper, we review data of long non-coding RNA expression, which was evaluated in human glioma tissue samples during a five-year period. Thus, this review summarizes the following: (I) the role of non-coding RNAs in glioblastoma pathogenesis, (II) the potential application of non-coding RNA species in glioma-grading, (III) crosstalk between lncRNAs and miRNAs (IV) future perspectives of non-coding RNAs as biomarkers for glioma.

In meningioma samples, members of the SNORD115 cluster have not been identified as up-regulated, supporting their exclusive neuronal origin.
“Interestingly, in meningioma samples – members of SNORD115 cluster have not been identified as up-regulated, supporting their exclusive neuronal origin (Jha et al., 2015; Rynkeviciene et al., 2018).”

The Discussion (page unavailable) describes snoRNA expression in pediatric gliomas, not meningioma samples. Searches for SNORD115, meningioma up-regulation, and neuronal origin found no passage addressing the attributed claim in our copy. (LLM, conf=0.73)

“Interestingly, in meningioma samples – members of SNORD115 cluster have not been identified as up-regulated, supporting their exclusive neuronal origin (Jha et al., 2015; Rynkeviciene et al., 2018).”

About these checks
Registry, retraction, Cites and statistics results are computed, not judged, with one exception: a printed reference that no index lists is read once by a model before it counts as a citation error. Claims are extracted by a model and kept only when their quote appears verbatim in the text; each cited source is then checked, with a model’s help, for whether it says what the claim relies on. Those verdicts can be wrong — read the claim’s quote and the cited source before relying on one.
Statistics and arithmetic are recomputed, not judged.
Confidence bands are shown only for fields calibrated on our annotated test set. None is calibrated yet, so no band is shown.
